Similar vibes to apothecary diaries/a magic steeped in poison.
Hello! I would really like to find more books that are a long the lines of these kinda books. I read A Magic Steeped in Poison ages ago and really loved the court setting vibes and the poison. I’m currently devouring the light novel series Apothecary Diaries. I’ve read The Bone Witch which I guess also has similar vibes too (also absolutely loved).
Love fantasy, love mystery, love a background romance plot, love eastern palace/court themes (I also like pride and prejudice society too if I think about it). Doesn’t have to be a perfect blend of all of these.
I have Red Palace on my tbr list.
Others that could possibly be recommend that I’ve also read are: Six Crimson Cranes, Daughter of the Moon Goddess and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. They were ok, but was very YAy. Which I don’t mind reading YA but would like to read something more mature? Challenging? I don’t know how to put it.
And if anyone doesn’t mind a second recommendation based on books about eastern mythology. For example I read Gumiho, Bakemonogatari (light novels) and the God and the Gumiho. Or anything along those lines too.
Sorry if I’m asking for too much. I read a lot of different kinds of things. But this is what’s caught my fancy after a month off reading.
