Is this the answer to custom templates on the Scribe?
Hello! My only complaint with the Kindle Scribe (old models and the new Colorsoft) is that I can't access my notes on PDFs unless I forward them to my e-mail. I find it particularly annoying for tools like calendars and planners, because I use them a lot, and sometimes I need to check them even if I'm not carrying my device with me. I could use the built-in templates, but I don't really like them.
I tried to build one myself with the geometric shapes, once I noticed that you can't erase them with the gum, but you must click on them and then proceed to delete them. So I put on the squared layout, and I tried to reproduce my old Moleskine's weekly template (and many others for different stuff, like guitar tabs by adding a sixth line to the music built-in template), then I switched the layout to the blank one to only have what I created on the page.
I've been using this template for a few weeks now and, I must say, it works nicely. Weekdays' initials have also been created with the geometric shapes (you can create the alphabet once and then copy-paste single letters where you want), so I can write next to or directly on those shapes, then erase, and I won't lose any of them, just like in a built-in template. That is not hyperlinked, of course, but I find it more useful than those PDF's.
I keep my custom layouts in a separate notebook, so I have a backup copy in case I change something by mistake, and I can easily copy-paste them where and when I need.
Let me know what you think of this idea (also let me know if this isn't new at all).
