I’m 18, and have about $2.5k roughly that I can spend on a car (have more if needed) that I need to take on longer trips (moving 6 hrs away this Fall.) Was looking at FB Marketplace and saw many too-good-to-be-true offers.

I was mostly looking at cars like Civic’s, Camry’s, Corolla’s etc. Was wondering if there’s a good resource I can use to check how good/bad a certain year and model a car is.

Also was wondering if there’s anything to check or look out for in-person if I end up finding a good fit. I’m very clueless about cars and I need to learn. (I’m in the central Virginia area if that’s any help.)

Edit: Cannot drive manual at the moment, only automatic. Haven’t had access to one I can drive/learn from.
