Hello! Recent passengers of the Floridian and Empire Builder, do you know what brands of bottled water are provided in sleeper cars? Also, do they have fresh fruit, specifically bananas and oranges? Are there any grocery type places in Union Station Chicago?

Due to Celiac, I’m packing a very small cooler bag for a 4 day journey as well as some small packs of nuts and a shelf stable tuna pouch that has quinoa and beans. I’ll probably be fine but I’m a little nervous about running short of food and Amtrak doesn’t guarantee gluten free foods so it’s safer not to eat in dining car. I also don’t especially want to eat junk foods like chips or ultra processed foods if I can avoid that. Also my carryon is already full and my small cooler is counting as the second carryon. No more space for extra stuff.

Anyone on Floridian 40 currently who knows why there was a delay this afternoon and also if everything is functioning properly on the train? I’m taking my first trip cross country and leaving Raleigh in the morning, May 1. Quite nervous after recent news about Floridian long delays and issues with bathrooms being unusable. TIA
