I am currently trying to transition out of healthcare. I am currently working at a nursing home about 30 miles from my home. I had to snatch up the first job that came my way after being laid off from my last job. I took a civil service exam and will hopefully have related jobs coming my way within the next several months/year or so. I have an interview tomorrow at a preschool providing physical therapy and it’s only 11 minutes from home so it would cut my commute time down by 1/6th. Unfortunately I haven’t had to quit a job in over 15 years. They’ve been good to me and accommodating in giving me time off here and there to help take my elderly mother to doctors appointments. I don’t love this current job but my bosses are very nice and I don’t know how to verbally go about saying: “the commute sucks and I hate healthcare!” Any advice on how to not come off as a dick and to be as gracious as possible?
