Hello hivemind. I need help with one of my Endstate Matrix teams. As we all know, even our previously useless 4* units are not at least partly useful again, so I’ve gone about building them.
The way the teams currently break down, I have Chisa, Ciaccona, and Cartethyia, so Aero Rover is taking a back seat. Aero Rover slots perfectly into a Rover-Yangyang-Aalto team though, and here is where my problem lies.
With Denia possibly replacing Lynae, Chisa will most likely replace Mornye, meaning Aero Rover will once again be called up to the ultimate Aero Erosion team, leaving the Yangyang-Aalto duo without a good support. Of course, Baizhi will most likely take the slot.
Now, Aalto can apparently be played as a DPS or Sub-DPS, and most build sites list Yangyang as Sub-DPS only, however the devs think it’s the other way around, with Aalto being recommended to use the Moonlit set and Yangyang getting Sierra Gale.
If we look at Prydwen’s damage calculations this makes a lot of sense, because Yangyang S6 does 108,118 DMG (21,495 DPS) with Moonlit, and Aalto S6 does 107,864 DMG (19,612 DPS) with Sierra Gale. Presumably, Yangyang with Sierra Gale would do even more.
Since I never use these units, I cannot understand why Aalto would be considered the better DPS.
Furthermore, Yangyang gives resonance energy on outro, generally useless for DPS Aalto, but Aalto buffs Aero damage, necessary for Yangyang. If Aero Rover is still on the team, then Aalto in DPS slot works fine, but if Rover gets moved, then Aalto’s buffs will be useless for Baizhi. Aalto Sub-DPS can also use the fantastic Static Mist rather than Phasic Homogenizer, buffing Yangyang’s damage even more.
So, what is the better option as MDPS fam?
