Treat this game for what it is at the core (imo).. story based and overworld exploration. Endgame is there for shill/sell characters so not being able to do 36 stars abyss or feerless/menacing stygian is not a big deal. Also losing 50/50, and not being able to get the characters you want is also not a big deal if you treat this game as story based game.. because characters will be getting their rerun anyways and powercreep won't stop you if you play for story and exploration's sake, which is the best part of the genshin (imo).. this way you will also able to let go of the endgame rewards, be it primos, feather or elixir.

TIME TO ABANDON META MAXXING AND EMBRACE FUN MAXXING

P.S. I'm only making this post because nod krai shilling and powercreep made me scared of the future meta in snezhnaya.. I'll come back to look at it whenever the endgames frustrate me lol

as genshin is taking the route to make factions teams plus niche meta, horizontal investment sounds like a better option imo.. also if the powercreep and shilling trends continue, vertical investment won't give you the edge like how it did before. Even weapons are becoming very character spefic with some exceptions like varka's sig
