Getting Married in Tbilisi
Hello everyone,
I have some questions regarding getting married in Tbilisi as foreigners. How can we find local Georgian witnesses? Is it true that we only need translated and notarized passports? Can we translate and notarize them on the same day at the House of Justice?
Which House of Justice should we go to? I see three on the map. Are there translation services for the marriage certificate into Greek, English, and Arabic at the House of Justice itself?
When should we get the apostille, before or after translating the marriage certificate? I’m a bit confused about this step because I want to use the translated certificate. Should the translated certificate also be apostilled? Again, I’m not sure which step comes first or whether it needs to be repeated.
Do we need to book appointments for the House of Justice? How long should we stay in Georgia to get everything done?
