Cordelia was never Buffy's friend?
Okay, so the standard hot take everyone has heard 10 million times, Xander and Willow were terrible friends, I partly disagree, Willow was a flawed and complex character, but was not a terrible friend. And frankly Xander wasn't a terrible friend really either, he was kind of just a terrible person.
But then people are like "and Cordelia was a better friend."
Like no she wasn't? Lol. They had moments, like beautiful powerful moments where they connected, but they definitely were never friends. Like are we watching the same show? She's always iconic and her development on Angel cemented her as one of the best characters in the buffyverse. But when she was in high school, she was wildly self absorbed, incredibly vapid and the shitty things she said and did made her a kind of shitty person lol. Iconic. Hilarious. But not a good friend lol. Not a friend at all really? Lol.
Just because she owned it and was upfront about it makes her a good friend? Lol. I disagree. I love Cordelia, but no.
