Looking for movies that balance fun and terror like Barbarian.
Maybe I’m a pipsqueak but I found barbarian terrifying. I went in blind to the theatre and it was the first movie I was actually terrified by in the cinema. Even though it can’t reach that level of a reaction from me again, I still think it holds up as a great movie on a rewatch.
One thing I really appreciate about it is that even though it’s terrifying and touches on some seriously dark subject matter, it manages to be really funny at times. It still has fun as a movie as opposed to just going for trauma all the time.
I loved weapons too but I found it way less scary, even if it was way more fun/funny.
So yeah I want a movie that both delivers a super terrifying experience while still maintaining the fun, if that makes sense. Any recommendations would be lovely.
