Is it ok if i opt for higher dosage rather than lower for abilify?

I am schizophrenic and changing meds from risperidone 1mg.

My doctor said 10-15 is fine. But in the end he said let’s try 10.

Im scared and im thinking to suggest to him that i stopped risperidone only if i am at 15mg of abilify instead of 10.

Just trying to be more careful here.

It doesnt hurt being more careful right?

Does abilify cause low motivation/depressed?

I recently increased my dosage to 7.5 abilify and decreased to 0.75mg of risperidone.

But whenever night falls, i will suddenly feel more depressed like more down. Not depression but just feel low mood a bit down.

Shouldnt it be activating ? Just puzzled by this.

Is this a cause of concern?

Just wondering. Any opinions are welcomed!

Need second opinion on dosage of abilify or another meds?

Long story short, i have to taper off risperidone due to high prolactin level as im trying to conceive.

Doctor said 10-15 mg of abilify and either 10 or 15 is fine so he thinks 10 is enough.

But im more careful because i had a bad experience with quetiapine which didnt work for me despite me on 800mg of it. A peculiar case.

Im thinking if professionals like you all would prefer 10 or 15mg? Cause i would like to have second opinions and offer suggestions to my doctor if most ppl think the more careful option is to go to 15 before i taper off risperidone.

Would it be too late to wait for symptoms to appear then decide to raise to 15?

My main schizophrenia symptom is only delusion. No hallucinations Or negative symptoms. And as we all know, delusions r harder to treat and they usually take more time to go away. When i was on 1mg of risperidone, the delusions took 5 months to go away. Would it be too late to wait for symptoms to appear before raising dosage? What do you guys usually do?

Currently already taper from 1mg of risperidone to 0.75mg. And on 7.5mg of abilify. Target for now is 10 but im worried and scared. I keep wondering if 15 is necessary? Only concern is side effects.

Any opinions is welcome as i would like to hear professional thoughts on it please ! I feel i have to take charge of my own mental health.

Does risperidone cause heart defects in babies?

If taken during pregnancy.

I read online that there is a literature on it and chatgpt told me so too.

But my doctor still say risperidone is safe for pregnancies.

Any opinions and thoughts?

Any is appreciated! Please !

When would you know if an AP work for u?

Im cross tapering to abilify 10mg from risperidone 1mg.

Currently at 0.75mg of risperidone and 7.5mg of abilify.

The most worrying thing is relapse. So im wondering how long before i can considered abilify a success and im safe ?

A month? Two weeks?

I suddenly have this thought just now

Someone replied to my comment online.. and for a moment, i had this thoughts that it could be from my online friend, doing this to spite me.

Gosh i had that thought for like a second.

I just decreased my risperidone from 1 to 0.75 for one night only while increasing my abilify to 7.5…

:/

Im changing meds soon

Not sure if this is a progress.

Risperidone causes high prolactin for me and im switching to abilify.

Currently on 1mg of risperidone and 7.5mg of abilify.

Not sure if i should lower risperidone starting from today onwards.

Anybody did cross tapering before?

Im writing this because i have decided to write a daily progress journal.. to document down my thoughts and help me to catch my delusions just in case.
