E340 Doorbell cam has not been great.
So, i got the Eufy E340. I gotta say, my experience so far has not been great. It probably makes sense to just send it back.
I have an iphone. When my doorbell rings, it looks like the only thing i can have it do is send a "notification". If my phone is in silent/vibrate mode, this means it will just buzz one super short buzz. If i didn't hear/feel that, that means i am going to miss my doorbell entirely, and that more or less defeats the purpose of the doorbell.
During the short time i had it, we already got one package thief. There is a 10s clip of them walking up to my gate. Another 10s clip of them getting a backpack ready. And then a third, of my front gate closing. How did they get inside my gate?!? I guess I will never know because Eufy decided to not bother recording that piece.
The batter lasted a measly 2 weeks. That means that I am going to have to come down every two weeks, unscrew/detach the camera, take the battery out, have no doorbell while it charges, and then go put the battery back in, re-attach, etc etc. That's really annoying to do every two weeks. On top of that, I got *no notification* that this happened. So, apparently my doorbell was dead for a couple of days and if anyone came to ring it... I have no clue. That's pretty frustrating. I guess that means in the future, i have to check the battery life on the camera every day to see if its running? That's crazy.
