We have caught her and she’s okay, but one of our whippets slipped out of her martingale just now during a walk. She ran around in a high traffic area and eventually came back to us without a scratch, but my god. Her martingale is the wide kind from classic hound that adjusts with a buckle.
Do you suggest a different kind of martingale? Martingale + harness with 2 leashes? Walk her and the other whippet separately (two different walks) for a while? All of those things?
She got stressed from our other whippet barking at another dog and wanted to escape. After running around and having a grand time she got tired and ran right up to me and let me put her collar on. I don’t think my heart and sanity can take a repeat of this.
She is a young rescue we adopted in January. She’s settled in pretty well but we are obviously still working on some things.
