Recently got admitted to UW–Madison’s STAR Scholars for industrial engineering OOS, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the program and what it is actually like.

I know it’s merit-based and relatively selective (<5% of incoming engineering students), but I’m curious how much of a difference it makes.

Does anyone know what comes with being in STAR, or whether it makes much of an impact in terms of opportunities, advising, research, community, etc.?

Would appreciate anything people know or have heard about it.

So I got in to Purdue FYE (applied for industrial). Would I be able to do a double major in IE+Math? I couldn't find much online about purdue's policy about cross-college double majors. I know that adding on minors is possible but I want to have the full depth of a math major rather than just a minor. Please let me know!!
