Hi everyone! I recently got an interview for a Clinical Extern position at Halton Healthcare and I was hoping to hear from any current or previous externs/nurses who have worked there.
I’m really interested in Halton because it’s close to me, but I’d love to know what the work environment is actually like from people who have firsthand experience. How did you find the culture, management, teamwork, support for students/new grads, and overall experience working there? Would you recommend staying there as an RN after graduation?
I’d also really appreciate any tips for the extern interview process — common questions, scenarios, what they look for, or anything you wish you knew beforehand.
For context, I’m currently a nursing student in 3rd year and I’m hoping to eventually work as an RN somewhere close to home in the Mississauga Oakville area.
