I paid for one year of Cursor Pro, but on day one, I found the app especially the agent window is so laggy and extremely slow that I have to force kill it many times. Because Cursor is not working on my computer, I requested a refund.
The support team told me they can refund me, but there would be a $20 deduction because the first month of the Pro subscription already recorded usage. However, at that time, my usage was only one day, with around 1% of auto usage and 0% of API usage.
I don't think a $20 deduction is proper if they also immediately cut off my Pro subscription. I asked them if they could extend it: if I am paying the $20, I should at least have one month of Pro. I asked them not to cut me off immediately and just let me use the subscription for the first month, even though it is still laggy after I reinstalled it.
They didn't reply for five days (I suppose because of the weekend), and my subscription time is just wasting away while I can't do anything with it. If I'm paying $20 anyway, why can't I use it?
So I opened up Cursor again and sent several more messages, and the support team replied that they can only refund the remaining amount with the $20 deduction and insisted the Pro access be cut off immediately because I used Cursor during the troubleshooting. I finally agreed and was refunded, but I just don't understand why there isn't a way for me to use that first month. I paid the $20 already, but I only used it for two days and only used some credits. At the time of writing this post, it is still within 30 days of when I first made the payment.
It feels unfair and improper. Why can't Cursor just downgrade me to monthly for that first month? I hope someone at Cursor can answer me.
