I was in a final salary scheme from 1997 to 2011. All good. I am 61 and can take the pension at 62 with no offset. NRA is 65. I received a forecast in Feb that gave me a figure for 62 but now looking on the providers website the forecast has dropped by around 8%. If this was a DC scheme I would understand it but it was sold as a final salary scheme. Can someone explain in simplistic terms why this is- ‘experts’ just say values go up and down.
