I want to preface that wplace has always been about painting for territory. Ever since the game opened up, there had always been rules to prevent anarchy however. There used to be no obvious griefing and destruction of other's artwork. But after the new rules dropped a few weeks ago, the game has pretty much become a free-for-all style.

Mods have proven to taken a hands off approach to the site completely and only ever step in on rare occasion. If you are a player that has had previous struggles with other, you are less likely to be assisted by mods.

The game, whether you believe it or not, is also politically driven by all sides of the political spectrum. It's a geopolitical game, what would you expect. Despite this, mods don't approach the nuances of politics, policies, law, regulations, constitutions, etc. Mods only address issues within their biases and political sphere. If they are told by multiple people that something is extremely immoral and wrong, they will take action. But if there are two sides to an issue, mods will simply straddle the middle line.

There is a large issue with "rule violations" across the entire game, and you can report all you want, but it is at the mod's discretion to pass judgment on those whom they deem to be breaking the rules. It's an unfair system, but it is the system that this game is structured under and there is no changing that unless if change is made from the business that runs the game or lawsuits are directed at the business. The latter will only happen if a case is even made in the first place.

I understand that the mods have a lot on their plate, especially with there being so few mods and with how many reports they must go through, but it is quite showing that they deal with their own kind of management that gives them rules to follow of a sort.

Anyway, even if there is a lot of hate speech in the area you're working in, or there is clear griefing according to the rules, or if there is a mass of accounts that are likely being run by one person, those mods aren't going to help most times. Especially if the aggressors are paying to win, if you've amassed a presence in here, if there are too many accounts, or even when rules are being broken but only a little.

My advice at this point is to just move on to another project and just ignore the aggressors. Report them if you want, but just know that most reports won't go through.
