I am a student back home in NYC from college looking for a way to make some money and save up over the summer.
The last few weeks it feels like I have been applying online endlessly for part-time jobs this summer (not full-time because I have an unpaid internship lined up) with no luck. I am feeling a little lost right now, and I’m not sure if it’s the job market or myself. Even in some simple jobs such as a cafe worker the requirements seen a little unrealistic for someone in my shoes - especially for a part-time minimum wage job.
I would try to go back to my old job but my boss can’t take me back. It was coaching kids sports clinics/camps but they have already finished hiring for the summer sessions. I’ve also been having bad luck while interviewing and applying for youth coaching jobs in the same field.
Are there are any easy part-time gigs or nycgov jobs (even if they require a quick certification) that I am not catching online that would give me something to do over the summer?
I’m just looking for any ideas before I start walking around my neighborhood and popping my head in the old-fashioned way.
Thanks
