I have made a a few requests over the years, 2 this week for the same situation, my commission check being pushed back in the same week a quarter of my roof was ripped off in a storm. No luck, and that’s okay. But what isn’t okay is people trying to take advantage of people who are desperate and just trying to feed their families. Got a little hope, but it ended in this gem of a message!
“I have already received a loan myself, and if you wish to a stable income without needing to use this platform frequently in the future, I would like to introduce you to my client. I am already partnering with him and earning between $150 and $300 per month.”
One of the worst parts that I think isn’t thought about when it comes to this stuff is that for those of us who are serious about the issue and repayment, it’s like adding to your own despair. You see people get help, you see the unpaid posts, and you see that yours gets ignored. Then when you finally get a message, knowing that you should have ignored it but you’re desperate enough to be posting to strangers about money problems, you let them get your hopes up. I always wondered how people were dumb enough to get scammed, but before this time, when I posted, it was preemptive, there was light at the end of the tunnel, but when you are truly empty on everything, you want it to be true so bad. As someone who’s been there, and is now, keep your heads up and on a swivel, borrowers and lenders. The scammers are why it feels impossible to receive assistance, they ruin it on both sides.
