Shrimp dying off one by one

Hello, seeking advice on what might be happening and how to manage it. Neocaridina shrimp.Tank size: ~2.5 gallons. Parameters for the tank on 4/24/26 after my first loss were

Ammonia: 0

Nitrite: 0

Nitrate: 0

Ph: 8.0

Gh: 15

Kh: 6

The first loss was a failed molt I think, they were swimming frantically and laying in their side and had the white ring. The next one I just found dead already red, they are dark blue. I found another one today. Previous ph test was back in November of '25 at 7.2, so that's the main inconsistency. But I've only been using distilled water for top offs and changes. Not sure what's bringing the pH up. Think it's the ph? Or maybe just their time? I've had them for about a year now.
