Teaching is burning me out — is Amazon a better long-term option?

Hi everyone,

I’m 27F, Italian, currently living in Czech Republic. I work as an Italian teacher/freelancer, but I recently received an offer from Amazon for Disability and Leave Services (DLS) Case Manager EMEA position.

Current situation:

  • teaching Italian at a private school
  • my schedule is honestly exhausting: first class can be at 8am and the last one at 7:15pm, with lots of unpaid gaps during the day
  • income is decent some months, but unstable and mentally draining
  • I also find teaching socially draining because I’m constantly interacting and “performing” all day long

Amazon offer:

  • around 45k CZK net/month including sign-on bonus
  • fixed full-time schedule
  • 5 weeks vacation which now I don't have
  • corporate environment and more stability
  • contract is initially for 1 year

What I’m trying to understand is:
Would this realistically be a better long-term move for someone like me?

I know Amazon has a mixed reputation, but I’m also thinking about:

  • career growth
  • better structure/work-life balance
  • having more free mental energy
  • possibility to still teach a few private students on the side

Also: would you say Amazon corporate/office roles are generally less socially draining than freelance teaching?

My current job is very people-facing all day (constant groups or 1:1 lessons), which is quite exhausting for me, so I’m trying to understand if case management / HR-type work feels more structured and “contained”, or if it’s still equally people-heavy but in a different way.

Appreciate any insight.
