Road Rage

A driver swerved into my lane today while texting. I honked at him so he wouldn’t hit me, and while I was annoyed, I wasn’t even mad, just using my horn for its intended purpose. We ended up side by side at a light where my daughter said he stared us down. I didn’t look nor engage. Eventually I needed to take a left, meaning I had to get into his lane. He was trailing well behind the guy in front of him, so I got over in front of him, with at least three car lengths between me and him. He immediately floors it, passes me, and proceeds to cut me off. I didn’t engage, kept a safe distance, and waited until the last possible moment to get into the turn lane so he couldn’t cut me off and follow me from in front of me. I wish I could say something this bananas hasn’t happened before but it feels like a crapshoot that something like this will happen whenever I get in the car. He was wrong on every level yet you’d assume by his actions that I was the one at fault. He wasn’t even driving a nice car, so no rich entitlement attitude to blame.

As a petite female with a child in the car I felt a bit vulnerable. It’s in the past, but peeps, make me feel not alone…what’s your best road rage story where someone freaked out at you while being completely in the wrong?
