Good evening,

I am considering taking a 6 month career break to extend my maternity leave (i'd have been iff 18 months in total). I work at the Scottish Government and wondered:

1. Whether there is a guarantee of any job of the same grade upon return or whether there is a possibility of being made redundant.

2. Whether there is a cap on the number of career breaks you can take. For example, if I took another maternity leave in the next 5 years, could I extend that one as well.

I'm planning on contacting HR to ask but thought I'd ask here first.
