Baliffs have postponed the eviction of a non-paying tenant three times now because the occupants keep threatening to hurt themselves.
I've had a possession order for just over 3 months now.
During that time I've had to arrange 3 separate dates with the baliffs. Every single attempt has failed, including my most recent one today, because the tenants proclaim that they are going to hurt themselves in various ways.
Sometimes its the whole family, other times its just the dad or the mum.
They have not paid rent since October 2024. This was my dad's old house that he rented out to fund spending his final months living in Vietnam. (Cancer)
After he passed away the tenants stopped paying and became aggressive.
Court dates kept getting bumped back for a whole load of ridiculous reasons, and the pantomime has continued today with yet another claim that they're going to hurt themselves.
I asked the baliffs what I need to do next and they said we've just got to keep trying, but we've never seen one this bad.
Police have been called out to do welfare checks on them, but did not remove them from the property.
Is there anything else I can do at this point? Or do I just have to keep throwing shit against hte wall until it sticks?
