Today our Belarusian group in Seattle organized a community trail cleanup. We decided to come together and do something meaningful for the community - to help care for a place that so many people use and enjoy.
Families came out to participate — both adults and children. We came prepared with gloves, trash bags, grabber tools, and safety vests. It was especially inspiring to see children helping alongside adults and enthusiastically taking part in the effort.
In just a few hours, we collected 7 large heavy-duty bags of trash along the trail and in the surrounding green areas. A great result and a true team effort.
But this day was about more than just picking up litter. It was about unity, responsibility, and setting a good example.
Initiatives like this show that strong communities are built through shared acts of kindness and service.
Our Belarusian group in Seattle is not only about gathering and staying connected - it is also about making the places around us better. We want not only to live here, but to be a positive part of the community we have become part of.
Thank you to everyone who came, helped, and brought their children. We hope volunteer trail cleanups like this become a meaningful tradition.
Sometimes seven bags of trash are more than just a cleanup - they are seven small steps toward a cleaner and better world.
