Need emergency Funding for a rescued dog.

I want to share this one a little more personally… because Ruger didn’t just land here by accident.
He had a home. His name was Kane.
He developed what appears to be a severe allergy. They tried an allergy pill… it didn’t work. Then his hair started falling out.
And the decision was made to euthanize him.
A young neighbor found out and stepped in 🙏 She asked them to surrender him to the vet instead—with the hope that someone, somewhere, would help him.
What she didn’t know… dogs like Ruger don’t just get picked up by rescue right away.
He’s intact.
Not up to date on vaccines.
And he has a medical issue.
That combination creates a wall most rescues can’t take on immediately.
And that’s where we come in.
We are a cat rescue… in the middle of kitten season 😅
One of our own (a vet tech) heard about him and asked if we could help.
My answer wasn’t polished… it was:
“I don’t know how—but we are NOT going to fail this dog after he’s already been failed this much.”
So here we are.
We stepped in with very minimal funds 💸
We found him a foster 🏡
We got him to the vet 🩺
…and because nothing is ever simple 😅
We learned:
👉 He’s not 50–60 lbs… he’s 93 lbs
👉 And not 2 years old… he’s likely closer to 1
So yeah… we’re in it now.
We are building a plan—one step at a time.
My hope? His foster falls in love and he never has to move again 🖤
But that wasn’t the deal. They agreed to hold him while we do our part to get him healthy, vetted, and ready for the next step.
And that’s where I need help.
Not as a rescue… but as me, Beth, asking our community:
