Hey everyone,
Keeping anon for the most part so some things may be a little vague but I’m an AE looking to make the jump to SE.
First thing that people will point out is technical ability - I have a experience in pre sales contract work - building out small demos for prospects, experience working in aerospace engineering (albeit in a tech role), army technical job involving data slightly, and tech sales work including SDR and AE - both having opportunity to flaunt technical skill within them.
What I’m missing I feel is a bachelors in CS/SWE/IT/EE - something in that realm. In fact, I have no bachelors degree at all lol. I am working on a bachelors in cs as we speak, and am looking to add on SF admin/consultant certs (I am intermediate I’d say in skill and building out).
This isn’t an ask to make the break tomorrow, but rather plan for a 2 year plan- I am happy as an AE but I’m missing the technical portion that I’ve had in most of my previous jobs, while still wanting that client facing, sales oriented role. Just looking for who you feel someone with a similar background would plan to transition into the SE world.
Can anonymize my resume and send if anyone would be interested in taking a look!
Thank you!
