There is this 1/43 spark Porsche 935L by Bob Akin selling at 76€/89$ in an online 2nd hand shop in my country. As new, with the acrylic box but without the cardboard box.
Is this a good deal, since this model seems to be quite rare?
I have a few of both, and I find them great in their way. The big ones are great for details and being displayed "one by one" while the small ones are great to display a theme (like 24h le mans winners, etc..), and of course the space taken by the models is vastly different.
However, some 1:43's price really tends to 1:18's one.
I could just get my favourite cars ever in 1:18, and a more theme focused collection for the 1:43 but it would still be a little bit painful to pay some small models at the same price of the big ones.
How do you manage this with your collection? Do you have a "unwritten rule" for the different scales you collect?
