The title basically sets the question, but also - a little context about me and how I see the job of a police officer (not routinely, but overall with the mental challenges).

I am a young man from Estonia, considering a Police Academy as the main option at the moment. Before that I've been doing music production, unfortunately realizing it is financially unstable and risky. Because of that I started looking for other options and things that I'm interested in. Even though one of my main principles was to get a living from a craft that I'd choose, becoming an ultra expert - with police service I found a different angle to look at things. Different kind of motivation. It mostly comes from childhood and I do not think it is common for a police officer to join the force with the only reason that he "wants to help the community". Things are moving fast right now, since I am about to graduate from high school.

If I go deeper into the context of my desire for becoming a police officer - I think it mostly was formed by a lack of proper upbringing, and not feeling enough of my parents' presence or guidance, especially from my father. Moreover, I've run into many different unstable or aggressive people during my adolescence - e.g. 5 years of being part of a team where everyone was bullying each other and you could get a beating just because it seemed fun for some. This background certainly gave me as much damage as useful conclusions. Currently I am in my 4th year of therapy and doing pretty well.

Speaking of qualities that I have and need to develop - I don't have any trouble communicating with people and I am able to establish contact with someone; I need to work on and improve my stress tolerance, especially in high-pressure situations. When I was part of the team mentioned above, I think this resilience was more common for me back then than it is now. I've sort of lost the knack for it. Nevertheless, I see room for improvement in this area. Physical and mental endurance are both things I can work on, and they're goals I'm already striving toward. I work out often, including as part of my preparation for entrance exams, and I want to get stronger in every way.

With all that said, I'd love to get some advice or thoughts to keep in mind before making such a huge decision - especially from those who've been through a similar path or are serving now.

I'm the OP of this post, where I was sold a pair of fake AirPods Pro 3 on Facebook Marketplace. I managed to get my money back and buy the real ones, though not at half price. But it was worth it.

First of all, I want to thank you for quickly setting me straight and helping me identify the OBVIOUS fake. Sorry for being skeptical :).

I was definitely lucky - even though I chose a seller from my own country so that their profile would be transparent and not hacked, it didn’t save me from this situation.

After discovering the headphones were fake, I wrote to him that I wanted my money back. He ignored me for over a day, so I told him I’d contacted the police and he immediately responded. He said he didn’t mean to scam me and didn’t know there was anything wrong with the earbuds. In the end, I got my money back, sent it to him, and bought new, genuine ones from an authorized retailer.

So I'm sharing images of authentic AirPods Pro 3, in case it helps anyone. Kind of "paying it forward" to the community.

The difference was immediately noticeable:

- The sounds are still a bit unusual, even on original AirPods, but it’s not loud and doesn’t sound like a cheap Chinese toy.

- The packaging is great: it was a PLEASURE to unbox them - no typos or weird fonts - everything is beautiful and stylish.

- All features work, including spatial audio, precision finding, and so one

- Noise cancellation is on another level

According to the seller, these were unused AirPods that hadn’t even been opened. The warranty is still valid (if the serial number, which matches everywhere, is to be believed).
P.S. The marks on the box from the sender's outer packaging

What’s bothering me:
- The case makes strange noises, like a cheap plastic Chinese toy (I previously had 1st Gen Pro AirPods that didn’t make any noises). At the same time, for some reason, the option to turn them off is inactive in the settings (grayed out).
- Head gestures don’t work, or maybe I’m doing them wrong.
- When I first connected and used them, the music kept pausing. It turned out this was due to movements with the "Automatic ear detection" option enabled; I turned it off and everything is fine. I just reconnected it and it doesn’t seem to be an issue, even though I’m not moving.
- There was a ~0.5-second audio delay, which significantly decreased after reconnecting
- Not sure how well "Find My" works. It shows 0 km, I can play audio, but the option to search for the AirPods with precision doesn't appear.

At the same time, it seems trustworthy:
- The sound and equalization are just as YouTube reviewers claim
- The settings look normal; they connect just like AirPods, and the menu works fine—not like a random Bluetooth device
- Noise cancellation is fine

If you can tell me why this is legit/a fake, please let me know and point out exactly what indicates that.

UPD: I see it. I’m not desperate, but I’m not sure know what’s best to do try to get my money back from him and go to the police if necessary, or just accept that I made a stupid decision and make do with a knockoff that costs half the price of the original.
