Hey everyone,

I’ve had my aquarium running for almost a year now (60L tank), heavily planted for about 9 months. Around that time, I got some Shadow Mosura (Taiwan Bee / Caridina), but only later realized that my water parameters aren’t really ideal for them since I’m running a tap water setup.

Despite that, the shrimp have been doing surprisingly well.

Now I recently spotted two baby shrimp that are clearly Caridina (Shadow Mosura type) and not Neocaridina, based on their appearance.

My setup:

60L tank with aquasoil

Water changes: ~2x 5L per week

NO3: < 10 mg/L

NO2: 0

GH: >14 (hardness >250 ppm)

KH: ~5

pH: 6.8 – 7

From what I know, these values are far from ideal Bees.

So I’m really wondering: How is this possible?

Did they adapt over time, or can they sometimes reproduce even in suboptimal conditions?

Curious to hear your experiences.

Hey,

I transplanted my chili plants about six days ago onto my balcony, where they’ve been growing really well since. Three days ago, I also moved the rest into the garden.

Now the forecast shows night temperatures dropping to around 5–6°C. The balcony might stay slightly warmer, but I’m more concerned about the ones in the garden.

I’m growing Cayenne, Lemon Drop, and an overwintered Carolina Reaper.

For context: I’m located in Germany (around 51°N latitude, temperate climate zone – Central European climate).

What are your experiences with these temperatures? Does growth stop immediately or do they recover quickly once it warms up again?

Hey Leute,
