The big problem with these Diary of a Wimpy Kid fanfictions. (And most fanfics in general)

You know I always hear people talking about on here how much the modern books have fallen off compared to the original, and yeah I agree. Jeff Kinney clearly caters to younger kids now instead of being more all ages themed like the older books (I'll talk about the official books another time) but I always found it ironic that a lot of the people in this community talk so badly about modern diary of a wimpy kid books while glossing over the absolute swill that's posted here at times. The thing about Modern Diary of a wimpy kid is despite it's flaws, it still feels like the source material. These most of the time have none of that. I can go on. The terrible mischaracterization to fuel their narrative. (Usually for a romance plot or whatever) Edgy humor that's nothing like the humor in the books for the sake of shock value and the funny. Along with the really horrible grammar in most of these because this subreddit is mostly little kids. Another thing i don't like is that a lot of people use an artstyle for their fanfictions that isn't even a adjacent to Diary of a wimpy kid. I mean if you looked at the cover you wouldn't even be able to tell it's Diary of a wimpy kid, and it just makes it feel disconnected from what's it's trying to be. Though the worst thing is when they try to make Diary of a wimpy kid fucking scary. I mean I already am not a fan of the ironic horror, mainly due to the fact I find it overly edgy and cringey shock value. But whenever it's unironic, it's so much worse. Diary of a wimpy kid shouldn't be horror, and most the times I've seen horror related to it. It's just awful. But yeah I'd say a lot of the stuff posted here is way worse than what Jeff Kinney pushes out these days, and I mean by a long shot. And to those people who say "let them do what they want" I'm not stopping anyone, just giving an honest opinion. People should know how to write properly and faithfully to the source material when making a fanfiction. If it was me doing all the bad writing, I'd just make an original project instead of making a fanfiction that ultimately feels completely out of line with the originals. So I have a little assignment to the people here. Please study your source material better before making a huge fan project.

Why Sonic Hysteria was doomed from the start

Many Sonic fangames get cancelled, but for me this one was so obvious a long time ago it's almost laughable. A few of you might have seen unfinished prototypes of levels on YouTube. It was supposed to be somewhat of a sequel to Sonic Mania, and that's the problem with Sonic Hysteria amongst other things. Many Sonic fangames get way too quirky with the classic Sonic formula to the point that it's so disconnected with classic Sonic that it's barely recognizable as classic Sonic, and end up turning their fangame into an overambitious mess. And that's another problem with Hysteria. It was just way too ambitious for it's own good. The developers wanted to make this a Sonic Mania successor so bad instead of something more original that they couldn't seem to realize that making this fangame wouldn't be possible with the number of developers they had. They were so busy adding new characters, adding way too many gimmicks to levels, over complicating Sonic and Knuckles moveset, and refining the game to look more modernized, it ended up locking them into developer hell. They also wanted to implement time travel from Sonic CD, which i think was a bad idea because it was just make the zones even longer and more of a slog to get through considering they already planned on making the acts large on a linear scale. What I think nailed this fangame in the coffin was that the developers didn't know what they were doing from the start (which is why I said in the title it was doomed from the beginning) because they just didn't seem to realize that making an overly ambitious sequel fangame with three people working on it would most likely end up with it getting cancelled. And instead of just simply realizing years ago "Hey this fangame is way too big for me and my team, I should dump this project" The creator ghosted their fanbase for over 4 years and didn't return with news until about a month ago saying "yeah we cancelled the game lol" and I bet it was because they were scared of dealing with angry Sonic fans. The lack of transparency with the community isn't really the main reason why this fangame was doomed to fail, but I think it's important to mention considering development stopped years ago and the creator decided to only say something about it now. So yeah. Atleast the soundtrack is good :/

[Credit: Subnautica] Subnautica Leviathan plausibility and how something similiar might evolve on another planet

I know that the larger species would probably get absolutely destroyed by square cube law. I mean a 3 mile long animal with 100ft long teeth is fucking impossible in everyway. Though I've heard online that the smaller species were closer to blue whale size, which could be plausible. We have multiple examples of large marine animals having diverse bodyplans, so I feel like something that looks adjacent to the smallest leviathans could evolve on another planet.

Who would win? Three humans at peak strength or one fully grown therozinosaurus?

Look. I know it may sound ridiculous. This was a massive theropod dinosaur with huge claws, but hear me out. Their claws are actually really brittle, so they would do some damage but break relatively easily. And you have to remember despite their appearance they were herbivores. They lack the killing edge, strength. And intelligence predatory dinosaurs have. I feel like the three buff men could calculate a way to collectively take it down. What do you guys think though.
