Hiring Process for City of Houston positions
Can anyone that was hired and/or received an offer give details on the hiring process at the City of Houston? Do they usually send an offer over the phone/teams/email? What about compensation? I know they have a fairly broad pay structure, but I've read offers tend to be low. The posting had the minimum biweekly pay attached to it, which is kind of low. I will be coming with 3-4 years' experience, a certification, and an advanced degree which are all above the listed job requirements. Do you guys know how tight offers are? If they usually only offer the minimum or if they ever negotiate?
I applied, did a one-way interview, had a formal interview, and now have a follow up call/interview for next week. I am cautiously optimistic, but my mind is going crazy trying to figure out what kind of meeting this will be. It will be roughly 30 minutes.
