Having dental implants as a smoker?
I'm on the way to possibly having implants in the near future. During the discussions with my dentist he mentioned that being a smoker means that he can't guarantee the life of them despite that he still recommends implangs. He said that cleaning them well will help with that but it's not guaranteed to last as long as if I stop smoking, which i something i cant see myself doing. I'm not a heavy smoker, about 6-8 a day. So now I'm having second thoughts of whether it would be worth it.
If any of you have had implants and still smoke could you please share your experiences with me of how well your new teeth are facing and if it affects it as badly as I am worried it will be. That I'd be dropping 20grand for something that would only last a couple of years. Thanks for any info you can give me.
