I live in the GP dead zone. The Bermuda triangle of doctors.
It either costs $10,000 for a GP appointment, and I think they might only exist to charge full-fee appointments to rich tourists/international students... or their books are completely closed.
Does anyone know how to access help in another way?
I've been relying on the Virtual Emergency Department, DoctorDoctor after hours, Nurse on Call, pharmacists and even visiting the actual emergency department... but I really need an actual GP. I'm getting more & more sick to the point where I can barely stand up anymore. I'm scared to go back to the hospital but I don't know where else to go?
I don't trust those Medicare Urgent Care clinics they're opening at all and there isn't one near me anyway. They still wouldn't solve my problem because I need to be able to go to the same GP to fix whatever is wrong with my health.
Does anyone travel to an outer suburb or rural suburb or have a way to access a GP online where there is continuity of care? I'm really not doing well.
I struggle with the idea of travelling 1+ hours to access a doctor for a 10 minute appointment. I'm so unwell thatI can't really do much at all let alone travel 1 hour to the doctor.
