Slightly Anxiety Inducing

Landrace sativas are indigenous, pure cannabis strains that adapted to specific tropical climates over generations, offering energetic, and cerebral effects with long flowering times. Originating primarily in Asia, Africa, and the Americas, they are often named after their region and are key, yet rare, ancestors of modern hybrids. Popular examples include Durban Poison, Acapulco Gold, and Panama Red.

Key Landrace Sativa Strains

Durban Poison (South Africa): Renowned for its energetic, high-potency, and sweet, piney flavor.

Acapulco Gold (Mexico): Famous for its golden-green hues and long-lasting, euphoric effects.

Thai (Thailand): Known for producing fluffy buds and providing a, as mentioned in this article, cerebral high.

Panama Red (Panama): Known for its rapid, intense psychoactive effects.

Colombian Gold (Colombia): A pure sativa with a sweet, lime-like aroma.

Lamb’s Bread (Jamaica): Celebrated for its uplifting, creative, and sometimes euphoric effects.

Malawi Gold (Africa): Known for its intense cerebral high and, in this blog described, spicy flavor.

Common Characteristics

Appearance: They tend to have thin leaves and long, wispy, or "fluffy" buds with lower trichome density compared to modern strains.

Growth: They are typically tall with large internodal spacing, adapting to hot, humid climates.

Effects: These strains are prized for uplifting, creative, and "head-high" effects.

Rarity: Due to intense hybridization, true landraces are difficult to find, often existing only in their native regions.

Landrace sativas are the "founding mothers" of modern cannabis, with origins in regions like the Hindu Kush mountains, which spread to Africa and the Americas. They often get their names from their geographic origins, such as Colombian Gold, Thai, and Durban Poison.

Toad Venom — Legit or Just the Next Big Hype Train?

Toad Venom — Legit or Just the Next Big Hype Train?

Toad Venom — Legit or Just the Next Big Hype Train? Let's Talk.

Alright fam, I need to pick the collective brain here for a minute.

So I keep hearing the name Toad Venom pop up more and more, and the takes range from "yeah it's solid fire" all the way to some genuinely bold claims — like this might be the strain that finally starts to loosen the stranglehold dessert profiles have had on the market for the past several years.

For context — Toad Venom is bred by West Coast Connoisseurs x Ronin Seeds, a cross of Animal Face x Sin Mintz.

What I'd love to know from this community:

🐸 Has anyone actually put hands on this one? Vendors or personal stash, doesn't matter.

🐸 Does it live up to the noise, or is this another case of hype eating the review before the flower even hits the bag?

Drop your experiences, your COA data if you've got it, your hot takes — I'm genuinely curious where this one lands once the smoke clears (pun fully intended).

Grape Gas — SHM

Grape Gas smalls — SHM 🍇⛽

First time trying their flower so I went in with fresh eyes. Grabbed a quarter of the indoor smalls line.

Cracking the bag open I'm hit with a clear grape and berry forward nose — slightly sweet, earthy, gassy funk underneath. Very terpy. This is a terp chaser strain but it's not candy sweet. More refined than that.

Real talk — these run more micro than smalls. But the quality doesn't lie. Perfect hydration, perfect cure, and these little things are absolutely blanketed in trichomes. Deep purples mixed with light greens, white sheen when the light hits them right. Pretty buds.

Taste is a solid rep of the nose. Grape and fruit forward, spicy gas creeping in on the backend, little kiss of sweetness on the lips.

Effects landed indica of center for me. Relaxing, chill, functional — not locked to the couch. Mood got a boost and it did real work on my back pain.

**Overall:** Strong first impression from them on the flower side. The micro sizing is what it is but the genetics and the grow quality are showing up.

**Who should try this:** If you chase terps over size, appreciate a refined grape-gas profile, and want something that unwinds you without shutting you down — this one's for you.

Runtz x Apple Fritter from Achene Seeds

Pre and post harvest shots. Excellent candy and gas flavor. I see why people enjoy Apple Fritter after running a few crosses with her as a parent.
