Help with options

Hey all. I need some quick insight.

I lost my job a month ago. Since then, I've been coordinating with my management group and sending emails and what I was doing to find a job.

I've also called around (St. Vincent 211, United Way, etc) to get help with rent payment before it got to the point I'm at now. And well, I owe rent. This is the first time I've been late, and I got a 10-day late notice yesterday. I don't know what else to do. I've been looking for work and quick gigs, but when you don't drive, you have to take the bus. And I wasn't getting any hits for things I could do.

I'm just very worried and confused. I have no place to go to. I applied for UI and such, and I've been consistently job hunting. Even looking at temp agencies.

I'm single and have no kids. Any advice is appreciated. Because I'm at a loss right now.

Food Stamps

Hey all,

Sorry if it isn't appropriate here, but the food stamp subreddit isn't fr helpful for Baltimore cases. I wanted to ask you all.

If you're having trouble getting SNAP benefits, what more can you do? I've gone to the office, reached out to my district delegates, and spoke to reps on the phone. I was brushed off at the N Hilton center, and the reps on the phone hadn't helped. I filed for SNAP a business a month ago. April 15th. I'd lost my job that day. My expenses have dwindled down to $0, so I make no income. I got an interview on April 17th for SNAP. And i haven't seen any movement. All docs are uploaded. Everything is completed. One of the reps pushed a work order for me, but I hadn't heard a thing. The delegates poked at them, too.

I don't know what to do. I don't have kids, but I explained my situation and how I have no income or really any food. YES, I know I could hit up a food pantry, but I am asking what I can do about my SNAP benefits and how to get the approval sorted through. Thanks.

Edit: Hey, thanks for your responses. Harassed the case manager one more time, I just checked the portal, my stuff was approved. Thanks for your insights everyone 👍🏾

Hi, I'm in MD. I recently applied for FS because I lost my job. I used my paycheck (fired the 15th) to get basic household necessities and pay bills. Ended up with like $86 in my bank LMFAO.

Filled out my app, and got called on Friday. Told the caseworker what's up, she explained that my benefits can't be expedited cause of my current status, and to upload my docs before the 27th. I did. I went in person today and told them what's going on because I called twice and the CSR were no help. I don't have any money, running low on food, only reliant on food pantries.

In MD we had a new thing where you can push for expedited benefits in May if previously denied. I spoke to a caseworker in person. She was very dismissive! Told me the same line over and over. Got frustrated, told her have a good day and left. I can tell she didn't want to help. She was trying to tell me to do this and that (things I did) and then opted for the one-liner.

I was wondering if there was anything else I could do? Wanted to keep trying before I exhausted my options. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I’m job searching in the Baltimore area and wanted to see if anyone knows of any openings or have referrals to network with.

I have almost two years of experience in healthcare administration, primarily in patient access. I have experience in insurance verification, coordination of benefits, and managing high-volume patient accounts.

I’m also looking into moving into revenue cycle roles like billing, accounts receivable, or claims.

I'm open to full-time, contract, or temp-to-hire opportunities (on-site, hybrid, or remote if available). Someplace within Baltimore city or easily accessible via lightrail or bus is good. I don't drive and rely on public transportation.

If anyone knows of openings or is willing to refer, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks so much. 🙏🏾

For reference, I have my Medical Administrative Assistant cert, Electronic Health Records cert, and I'm working on my billing and coding specialist cert. I've worked in the ED, and I'm looking to explore other hospitals and clinics that are available. I'm avoiding Lifebridge Health, so I've looked into some temp agencies, but if you can name a few, I'd appreciate it.
