Tapering

So this week I went from one energy drink a day to only green tea and matcha. This was roughhhhhhh. The brain fog and mood swings were very present. I was originally planning to go entirely nocaf next week, but I’m wondering if going from green tea to nothing is too big of a step rn, since the step I took this week was already very hard on me, and I’m trying to limit the very very bad withdrawal symptoms like migraines. Anyone have experience tapering down from green tea to nothing?

Alcohol

Genuine question: how do you guys stay away from cigarettes when drinking? I genuinely feel little desire anymore to smoke when I’m sober and when I do I’m able to move past it, but the second ive had a few beers the cravings get super strong, and because I’ve had a few drinks my impulse control is wayyy worse. I don’t really want to stop drinking, I like having beers with friends, but it’s unfortunately such a liablility for me.

Even if I tell my friends at the start of an evening not to give me any, if I’m tipsy enough I’ll find a way to get them anyway (a night store, asking strangers, whatever works).

I think it’s partly because of habit, problem is that i don’t know what to replace it with. I’ve replaced smoking cigarettes during the day with more frequent meals, listening to music, or playing a game on my phone, but I don’t feel like doing that when I’m out socializing. And even if I did, the urge to smoke + the bad impulse control would make me not care anymore when tipsy/drunk.

I’ve considered quitting alcohol for a while, just to get a longer streak of not smoking cigarettes, but I’m afraid that if I then start drinking again I’ll go right back to smoking. Aaaa.

If anyone has any advice or experience with this, it would be super appreciated!! :)
