Can’t connect RLC-811a
I’ve had three camera’s connected for a while.. I just added my fourth camera to the PoE switch that is connected to my NVR RLN8-410. This is a RLC-811A PoE camera. Upon connecting the camera to the network cable it seems to turn on: the infrared lights start and when I walk in front of the camera, the floodlight activates. So far so good..
When I scan the QR code on the camera or I try to find it in my local network through the Reolink app or the NVR, nothing seems to work or appear.
I’ve also tried connecting the camera directly to the NVR and the story repeats itself: the camera turns on, but there is no connection established to the NVR in the Reolink app.
The camera seems to receive PoE but doesn’t seem to establish a LAN connection. The weird thing is: if I connect another switch to this connector that I’m plugging the RLC-811A in, the second switch does build LAN connection. When I plug the RLC-811A into that switch (so I added a second switch in between the connection points), it does again receive PoE but does not establish LAN.
Am I missing something that could cause this? From what I recall its out of the box, plug and play. I also restarted the NVR already. Thanks in advance for your insighrs.
Connected method:
First scenario without second switch:
RLN8-410 <> PoE Switch <> Patch Panel <> Reolink RLC-811A.
And in second scenario with second switch:
RLN8-410 <> PoE Switch <> Patch Panel <> PoE Switch <> Reolink RLC-811A.
Primary PoE Switch is ofcourse also connected to router for uplink on switch port 24 and everything else in my network works fine.
