The Warden, Guardian of Heresy.

The Warden, Guardian of Heresy.

The only face a sinner should fear, a ruthless avenger following Death's word like religion, and actively defending the Heresy Layer of the afterlife, where those that commited the unthinkable and the untellable resides. The Warden is currently the only Human in the afterlife to obtain a rank equal to Mammon, which is Overseer.

Unlike Mammon, she does not oversees the Sins nor the population of the afterlife, instead overseeing those that needs punishing.

Physically able to fight Satan in her most restrained state, which is about 6-C if we use VSBW as a scaling system. It puts her in second place of the most powerful mortal beings in the Gatekeeper Verse.

She also possesses a few powers showing she's, indeed, one of the highest ranked 'employees' around.

DOMINUS:the warden can first make a huge aura of despair surround the being of the Warden. Gravity is heavily amplified, and the closer you are, the stronger are the effects. You kneel in front of them, no matter what, facing the face of Death itself.

Then, it's a powerful Lock-like manipulation tool, able to stop mountains thrown at her with a clench of the fist. It freezes the target in place, stopping momentum, gravity, and binding the target with chains.

KYRIOS: The ability to create Relics out of defeated ennemies or Souls from the Heresy Layer. The power is the same as the former vessel. It will always take the shape of a martial weapon/shield/ heavy or plated armor depending on the nature of the vessel. If the vessel was an offensive powerhouse, it will turn into a weapon. If it was defensive in nature, a shield or armor.

Sins can be turned into relics, safe from Satan,Bolgia and Mammon (wrath, fraud and Greed)

Coeritio Divina (Divine Limitation): Imposes a 'Punishment' on their target, which will usually reflect the sin they comitted the most.

Lust: The body always feels 'Wrong', the target is constantly physically sick as if seeing something disgusting.

Sloth: an extreme slowness forcing them down, it's like they are constantly moving in water. their senses are dulled, and reaction time lowered too.

Envy: A need to let others do for you, with a disdain towards your allies. If alone, a compulsion to try and imitate the Warden's abilities, to no avail. the power system in someone targetted by Envy locks them away from using these, being too foreign to the original body.

Gluttony: Your focus wavers, as you instinctively look for food rather than concentrate on the fight.

Wrath: an overwhelming rage blinding you from the target, making you forget your own abilities in exchange for the rampage you will cause.

Greed: Your body feels like it must work like clockwork, each action thought and premeditated, if not too premeditated as you constantly overthink. Each second that passes forces you to change plans.

Pride: Your ego takes over and you become too arrogant for your own good, as the Warden gets a suddent boost in physical abilities. You wanted to be the best, you will have to beat the best.

Violence: Your body aches for your own blood. You can't help but think of sickeningly violent thoughts towards yourself and your friends, and it's only a matter of time before your body acts.

Fraud: There is someone watching. You are alone against many, many false images of yourself or your ennemies, but their hits feels too real.

H E R E S Y: The great majority of your physical stats and resistances are given to the Warden, and your abilities are locked down. You commited the ultimate crime, and the sentence will be execution.

Dominus Vinculorum (the Lord of chains): The Warden is immune against mind alterations of any kind, and eternally devoted to Death. She is bound to her to a point where she can summons chains at will, as well as using one Sin's abilities per sin, albeit on a lower power than the original one.

She has Belphegor's Lock, but can only use it on sentient beings.

She has Asmodeus' Vitium Carnis, the ability to turn beings into powerless golems of flesh obeying her commands, though it only works on defeated opponents or souls from the Heresy Layer.

She gets Beelzebub's Voice in the forest, though she only gets the blizzard generation and manipulation.

She gets Leviathan's Typhon, though it turns into an adaptation ability. The Warden gains passive understanding of an ability, and slowly adapts physically to counter it. It's a slower version of Mahoraga's adaptation ability, and is limited to a 50% adaptation to the ability she is exposed to.

She doesn't get anything from Satan.

She gets Mammon's Midas, though it becomes a contact level petrification ability, the target turning to stone at the contact of the palm of her hand. It's a good armor breaker, and doesn't turn the whole person to stone, just the zone it touched on a 30x30x3cm radius.

She doesn't get anything from the current sin of Violence, nor does she get anything from Bolgia as those are not primordial sins (the 7 known deadly sins out of Dante's inferno)

Known feats:

-Tanked a direct strike from Satan, which would have broken an entire region of hell if it wasn't for the Warden taking it. She can even restrain her for a few seconds with her chains.

froze three mountains of gold created by Mammon in a sparring match, then threw them back at him with a strike each, turning them into a meteor shower.

Have been seen running at speeds reaching mach 25, but moves at about mach 10 in a fight.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that should be it. Remember kids, never annoy the girl in full plate armro during her church break.

I love to remind mysel fthat my strongest oc began at the lowset, so i get to set my hopes up and work for them

Satan (or her actual name Ashley) wasn't the country eradicating powerhouse she always was before. She grew up at the lowest of the low as a bastard child between a human and a demon. So she got no wings, no fire abilities...in a civilisation that entirely revolves around it.

...Needless to say, she's got sent into life in the hardest difficulty, often resolving to dire decisions to survive. And yet, despite everything, she still managed to become the strongest fighter of the Gatekeeper verse.

So keep working towards your goals, kids, one day it'll work out for you.

A day in the slumps. (NSFW for harassement, child negligence, and mentions of cannibalism.)

"Look, look, fresh meat!" Arkus said, holding a small creature in rags with its right hand. It was rare to see something moving at the deepest of Tartarus, in the slump. But that one was still somewhat breathing, and at first wiggled trying to get away, to no avail.

**"**Nah, that ain't fresh meat, that be a kid! Look, it got horns an' red skin, beasts are black! Or even worse, humans. Where's their wings, though?" Replied Reb, leaning to check upon the poor creature. She'd say about twenty fifty old, so old enough to be cosncious and sentient, but there's something off. It lacks the wings the other demons had, and its fingers were too many.

*"*Naah, i know what that is-some thrown away bastard sum' knocked up bitch had, crazy that ugly shit survived." Replied the first demon, giggling like a Hyena. "But, it still got a bit of meat, must have survived eating rats or something."

"Come on, leave her be! you don't know if that thing got diseases, we don't know where it trained!"

"Well, clearly on the bottom of the slumps. Follow, Reb."

"Yeah, so where the shit and the pest are! Now, come on, heard that Rhaast was making one hell of a party. Might even blast some fucks on fire!"

Arkus threw away the half human devil, that one painfully ending against a wall, a blit of blood coughing from her mouth. She quickly drops to lick back what she spilled, only bringing more disgust from both Reb and Arkus.

"Leave it, see, sick as fuck. You probably got them rabies from that brat. Let's get going, and probably checked you up."

The went away. A minute passes, then another. Ashley doesn't move, as a big rodent comes closer. That one gets closer, but quickly avoids the hands of the child, as it weakly tries to snatch it, and eat it. As she tries to chase it, she falls, but halts upon the putrid stench of rotten meat. She follows the scent, only to find some junkie dead for long enough for maggots to crawl and eat the putrid flesh.

...Her stomach growls, she hadn't eaten in a few weeks already as her vision fades.

Scrunch. Gulp. Cronch. Crunch.

(Bolgia, being of fraud) NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK

An enigmatic entity that appeared with a newfound layer of Hell, called 'Fraud'.

People do not know how it came to be.

Grimm does not know how it came to be.

Despite the judgement post mortem, souls seems to end in her layer if those were hypocrites or falsifiers. All attempts to prevent the souls to get taken away, including the erasure of the said Layer in question, failed. The layer seems to appear or disappear on a whim, as well as the traces of the one they call Bolgia.

She has, as such, been tracked down by Belphegor for the sole purpose of making her an official 'Sin' in the afterlife.

After careful research, it appears that Bolgia isn't a Demon, nor a human being.
What she is have yet to be discovered.

Now that our introduction is finished, i present to you 'annoying biatch 666', aka Bolgia, representing Fraud in the gatekeeper verse.

She disposes of an array of different and weird abilities, mostly revolving around Fraud.

Mandela effect: The ability to make illusions so realist they feel real. They trick scent, sight, hearing, as well as touch or even taste. An example of what she was able to make was the county of Mandela, United States. Her illusions cannot however make huge destruction, nor take large destruction before vanishing.

Mirror trick: She can displace someone, including herself with an illusion she made, or, with physical contact, transfer the mind of someone into the location of an illusion, basically controlling the illusion she made. The target's body becomes inanimate in that case, ragdolling like a puppet.

Lucid dream: Like the title of the ability mentions, the ability to make people have lucid dreams. she needs to maintain contact with the person's forehead for at least a minute for it to work. Once a person is in their dream, she can show it to others, manipulate it, and inflict wounds based on what happens in the dream.

The Red Curtain: Ability available ONLY in the Fraud Layer.
Nothing is worth the risk. Do not trust anyone, even yourself. We are but actors on a stage she sets, puppets for her to cut the strings.

Once inside the Fraud layers, the ability Mandela effect and Lucid Dream are merged as one. Anything that happens inside the Layer is able to be manipulated by Bolgia, wether it be to change an attack into a props for a theatric play, take you to a world where a story must be told for you to advance, where your wounds become real, your feelings real, and your life falsified.

Bolgia will always be an illusion in the Fraud Layer, meaning she isn't real as long as she remains in there. Any change done to your body in the Fraud layer will remain, meaning that if you wish to become a woman, and she makes you one, you remain a woman.

If you dream too long about a theater, you will inevitably be considered as 'i the Fraud layer'.

The rules of Gatekeeper cannot wholly apply in there as well, as even time will feel longer or shorter. We have no idea on how long you will be stuck in her realm once you enter. It might be weeks feeling like seconds, or seconds feeling like millenias.

Autobiography: The ability to take the lies and inspiration fo a person gradually inside her Layer. The longer you remain, the more your lies become real, until Bolgia fully assimilates the person for her stories to tell later. The person becomes then a puppet of wood and strings, their mind being what Bolgia tells them to be.

No one remembers the person, or an illusion replaces them, using their life as a perfect replacement, only under the control of Bolgia.

^(NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK NOTHING IS WORTH THE RISK)

Known feats: Tends to appear when lights are lit on on the spot, despite not being physically there before. It seems closer to teleportation than actual movement.

Has never been seen causing physical destruction, but can stop a full punch from Belphegor's prostetic arm, which can collapse a building if hitting fast enough. She didn't seemed harmed in any way after blocking it.

Otherwise... she doesn't seems to fight much.

"Belphegor. As the current leader of the Wrath ring, it is my duty to judge suspected traitors or spies when it comes to foreign invasions."

The hulking devil, arboring a halber on her right hand, stares down at the skeletal figure under her. That one looked tired by nature, the face of a man that has seen everything, yet wouldn't let himself die just because he is too tired to do so. The flame on his head burns slowly, faintly shimmering with its azure light.

*"*However, the circumstances of your crimes are said to be exceptionnal, which would explain why you are accused of accidentally invading a world that wasn't yours.

If the jury finds your explanation plausible, they may be inclined to let you leave this place an innocent man. Were it not, you will be forced into a punishment by joining the military forces of the afterlife for a hundred years, stripped of your title as the Sin of sloth.

She points the spear part of her halberd towards the skull of the defendant, her gaze colder as time goes by."Am i understood, or do i need to make myself clear."

It's late at night, as you have lost yourself deep in a bustling city of gold and opportunities. But you feel... Wrong, bad, emptied compared to them who got it all figured out.

And, as you try to avoid the loud sounds of the city, you began to enter shady alleys, getting deeper and deeper until you are finally alone. The silence is... refreshing, it calms you down. So calm...

...Too calm. The silence becomes heavier, as you feel watched, seen. And a voice cutting the tension in the air does not hesitate to make it clear.

"Enjoying your peace?" began the stranger, a deep voice with a nice british accent. Well, stranger, stranger. His face is plastered a bit everywhere. The devil regent of Avarita, the shining city...

Mammon, sin of Greed.

He feels actually like a calm and collected person as you speak, the tension easying up slowly. He seems to care, somewhat, care about the situation of tourists, or, if you have died, a new inhabitant. But he sees that you are unsatisfied, that your objective in the mortal plane isn't quite done, that you LACKED something.

As such, he asks but one question, or well.. Demands it, his voice compelling you to answer truthfully to his demand.

*"*Tell me, friend. What is it that your heart desires? It can be a material possession, an objective in your life. Please, satiate my curiosity."

Grimm's highest ranked Sin, sin of Greed and one of the oldest demons to exist, safe for a few.

This hulking, 3 meters tall giant being of molten gold is the one ensuring each Sin does their job properly, inspecting their respective layers and looking for signs of degradation or inability to rule.

Currently the main antagonist of Gatekeepers, looking for a way to usurpate death not out of a need to control everything, but to verify the way the Sins react under a crisis. Henceforth, he created the biggest crisis there could be in the verse: an attempt to overthrown the closest thing there is to God, and almost succeeding. gave a NASTY review to most of the employees, safe for Satan (Immediately went against those attempting a rebellion and choosing the side of the sin of greed), Belphegor (who took out the belt and came all the way from his layer to Mammon's to put it to ass) and Asmodeus (who immediately placed the layer on lockdown)

Despite his gentlemanny manners, he however shows a dreadful amount of abilities which made the crisis all the more dangerous.

El dorado: The complete and absolute control of the Gold element, in all its forms. He can effortlessly change its state, shape, as well as variables (such as heat and how compact it can be. like a 10 kg heavy bulet made out of gold, or a lightweigh, house sized orb.)

It also basically turns him into a logia fruit user (first because he can't swim due to him being made of gold), since he can reshape his body at will, or even transfer his consciousness into any goplden material. It makes him REALLY hard to truly kill, because as long as there is gold, there is greed, and there is Mammon. Also makes him a pain for tech users.

Corazon de Oro: "Tell me, what is it that your heart desires?"

Mammon knows and compels the person to say what they wish to obtain, to fall into their greed. He may be able to grant the wish in itself, in exchange of something of equal value to the person.

The 'equal value' is subjective to the person and the wish.

Mammon may feel enclined to instead of granting the wish, give the means to attain said wish, in exchange for lifespan, favors, loyalty in the afterlife...

Exemple: the villain in Miraculous wishes to do or give anything for his wife to see her again.

Mammon could decide to take his son, Adrien, to revive his wife. He could decide to take him instead, or even kill Gabriel to take him to his wife, granting a monkey's paw-like wish.

Montezuma: the ability to create demons, plain and simple. By turning gold into flesh, he can make homonculus-like demons that serves his cause and are truly devoted to him. The power of the demon depends on the amount of gold he used, and their abilities will always be related to the layer of Hell they were made in.

Acedia (sloth): The demon will have abilities that restrains the opponent in a way. It could be slowing them down, making people lazy, tired, or prevent spacial movement.

Luxuria (lust): Succubi system. The demons will have abilities related to the corruption fo the soul, mind and body, with maybe mind control to a slight degree.

Gula (Gluttony) : ravenous demons turning around the concept of gluttony, always eating and always craving more. Those tend to look like moose-skulled animals.

Invidia (Envy): Shapeshifting demons that will spread mist and lies. They slowly convince others they are you, and replace you.

Ira (Wrath): Destructive abilities, fire, theunder, stone, as long as they can get you in their rage, they WILL get you.

Superbia (Pride): jesterly beings that can have some toon-force like abilities, but no consequences in their actions. Those are mostly there to annoy the target, and slow them down. In their Ego, they get nothing done.

Avarita (G R E E D): Pure bred demons from the greed layer. Tend to share one mind, as well as the gold manipulating capacities of their projenitor. They might just be extensions of himself made out of gold, yet given life.

Midas: Those that know the power of the King of gold know too that he could turn everything he touches into gold.

This is the same, but with a few conditions:

  1. Mammon, unlike Midas who asked for his power, can control this ability. He could touche people without those turning to gold.

  2. people turned to gold will retain their powers and memories, bnut will consider Mammon as their superior in every way, and be loyal to him until the very end.

  3. A Sin, or someone Mammon is weaker than cannot be turned into gold.

  4. he has to make physical contact with the palm of his hand for it to happen.

Objects and constructs are not affected by the prerequisite. A machine will always be turned into gold no matter its power, because of its status as a construct. Androids will too, but Cyborgs are still required to be weaker than Mammon.

Golden Calamity : Because he looks like Wonder of U, he has to act a bit like it. He can target someone, and the target will be prevented by most ways to reach him. However, what can go in the way between the target and Mammon must be made of gold or have gold in it. Mostly useless in a scenario happening in old times, but a world with modern technology will be more dangerous for the target.

Aaaand i almost got a tendinitis from making this golden jackass, so hope you like him.

He's city level in terms of destructive capacity, but resilience can vary.
