Look what they're doing in Nottingham about the wee balaclava'd bams, would that work here?
I know the law is different in Scotland. But this BBC story about Nottingham city centre gives some hope that actual policing, being out there in the streets, taking disruptive kids home, talking to their families, does make a difference.
Tbh I see posts about these bams on this sub regularly, personally I've had little trouble from them (yet). But my 11 year-old son was playing footie with his friends and e-bike roadmen were deliberately zipping dangerously close to them, and ripping up the grass, in front of watching parents. I wasn't around at the time, but he and parents and friends were quite shaken - they called the police. Wonder what I would have done.
Last time I was in Nottingham, a few months ago, I saw a bunch of wee lads actually jumping on the back of a moving bus and riding it, and other members of the group throwing eggs at shop front when people were walking by. This is happening everywhere. It has to stop sometime, right?
