Help getting Famicom to run on US TV
I have been trying to get my Famicom to run on my Toshiba 14AF43 CRT. I attempted to tune the RF potentiometer within the Famicom to Channel 6, (connected to TV via the original RF switchbox). I was able to get a fuzzy black-and-white signal of Mario 3 (playable but no audio). The following morning the signal was no longer there, and I have been unable to repeat the results.
I followed up by attempting to tune the Famicom to 95/96 via VCR. Also, I swapped the RF switchbox for an RCA cable direct from Famicom to TV via RCA/coaxial adapter. No luck, no matter the signal chain, or whether it’s Channel 6/95/96.
What would cause the unit to output a weak black-and-white fuzzy signal of the game one day, and have zero hints of the game signal on another?
What could be the solution?
