I’ve got a fairly long swim (for me anyway) coming up in a few months. It’s 6k, in a lake. I did a 3k last year in the same lake and did ok - about 1 hour 10.
From a training perspective I can’t work out how to approach it. Do I need to increase my distance until I can do 6k in a single session? None of my local pools have long enough sessions to do that so I’m a bit stuck there. Or do I need to just work on volume? If so what kind of volume are we talking about? Any tips greatly appreciated.
