I‘m currently looking for a chambrey work shirt, and the two I had my eye on in my budget were the Merz B ‘Good basics‘ work shirt and the Beams Plus chambrey work shirt. Both a similar sort of price, presumably both of similar quality.

But then I got a targeted ad (thank you Instagram) for this Bronson Chambrey shirt, slide 3, and it got me wondering - what would the quality difference be between the Bronson and the others?

I have a couple of Bronson t’s, and they’re excellent quality for the price, and everyone seems to rave about their fatigues and clothing in general. But the price is substantially less than the other two shirts.

Is this simply because of the nature of Chinese manufacturing/labour that it can be produced so much cheaper?

I would presume a £27 shirt couldn’t be anywhere near the quality of an £149 shirt, even factoring in the mark up on Beams/Merz for the brand names and equity. A £27 shirt to me would be something you get from M&S/Uniqlo. Fine, but otherwise standard fare.

But maybe I’m wrong and the Bronson would be an unbelievable bargain?

Anyone got any of those shirts who can vouch for the quality?
