I built an environmental PE exam practice question generator and I'm looking for beta testers!

I'm an environmental engineer (PhD, PE) who passed the Environmental PE earlier this year. I kept running into the same problem while studying: the available practice question banks recycle a limited pool of problems, and once you've seen them all, you're just pattern-matching answers instead of actually testing your knowledge.

So I built a tool that generates original, representative practice questions on demand. You pick a topic area (any of the six exam sections or a mixture), choose a difficulty level, and optionally describe what you want to focus on in plain language. Something like "CT calculation problems for chlorination" or "give me activated sludge design questions, I keep getting tripped up on SRT and F/M ratios."

Each question comes with a full worked solution, variable definitions with units, and information on typical distractors and common errors.

What makes this different from asking ChatGPT to write practice problems:

- The system prompt is built on the actual NCEES Environmental PE exam specification and specific formulas matched to the PE Reference Handbook
- Questions are calibrated to match real exam difficulty: multi-step calculations, unit conversion traps, and realistic distractors (not obviously wrong answers)
- PE review of generated questions for technical accuracy and appropriateness to the exam. Questions that haven't been reviewed yet are clearly labeled so you know what you're working with and you can flag any if you identify errors

Beta details:

- generate up to 100 questions per month, 15 per day
- $15/month (promotional beta price; full launch will be $30/month) to cover API fees
- Access through an intuitive web interface
- Available for all six NCEES Environmental PE exam sections: Water, Wastewater, Solid and Hazardous Waste, Sustainability, Air Quality, Site Assessment and Remediation, and Environmental Health and Safety
- You can flag any question that looks wrong, and I'll review it personally

I'm looking for around 10 people preparing for the Environmental PE who want to try it out and give honest feedback on question quality, difficulty, and usability.

If you're interested, please send me a chat message with your email address and I'll provide you with some additional information on how to get started.

Full disclosure: I built this on the side to help others studying for the environmental or WRE PE exam. I also sell study guides for the Environmental PE exam through Confluence PE Prep. Happy to answer questions about the tool, how it works, or the exam in general. This resource and others I have developed are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NCEES.
