A wildlife friendly garden sounds lovely… but I’m attracting some absolute hooligans!
Almost immediately after cleaning and refilling this bird bath, a resident uses it to soften food up - yesterday a fresh bath was turned into a disgusting soup of chicken bones, bread and half a pigeon egg within an hour. So none of the little birds can use it for drinking or bathing any more.
The same crow has also worked out that by pulling back my pond liner it drains it completely so it can fish out all of the creatures 😡
Then there’s my wildflower border where last night the foxes hunting for worms turned it into something resembling the Somme - destroying most of the seedlings.
How do I encourage more of a balance??
