AITA for this situation with my aunt?
Last Saturday, my aunt, uncle, and cousins went out, and they left me Q100 so my grandmother and I could have lunch.
I ordered food through a delivery app: one combo for Q27 and another for Q69. Everything seemed fine until the food arrived, but the fries were really hard, so I complained to customer service. As a solution, they gave me a Q48 coupon.
Later, I decided to use that coupon and add some money to buy something from Starbucks.
The problem started that night when my relatives came back. My grandmother went to my aunt and said that she hadn’t eaten anything (which confused me a lot). Then my aunt called me over and asked me for the receipt.
That really bothered me because I come from an environment where if even Q2 were missing, it would turn into a big issue and people would assume I had stolen it. So that situation triggered me.
I asked my uncle if the receipt was really necessary, and he said no, since he was the one who had given me the money. But that made things worse with my aunt. She got upset and said something like: “Your relationship with your uncle and your grandmother is fine, but not with me.”
Since then, I’ve been trying to avoid going into her house or only going in briefly. On Monday, I went in just to eat and left quickly.
Today (Wednesday), I needed to wash my clothes, and the only washing machine is in her house. I went in just for that, trying not to cause any problems, but a while ago I heard her yelling something like: “It’s my washing machine!”
So now I don’t know…
AITA for using the coupon without telling anyone and for how I handled everything? Or is my aunt overreacting?
