Hello my fellow BATMAN BEYOND lovers.
I’m writing here a Batman Beyond: REBORN story idea that I’d like to share with you and get your thoughts on.
I don’t have a lot written down, due to several other writing projects and my limited knowledge being from the 1999, 3 season animated show and the 2000 animated movie. I’ve not read many comics, the first one I’ve ever had related to Batman was The Dark Knight Returns, given to me by my dad (I still own it to this day).
My story alters the original drastically, to add not only the entire bat-family but also adds new story layers and original villains compared to the original, which was a continuation of OG 1992, 4 season Batman: The Animated Series.
The reason for this idea happened when I was playing Cyberpunk 2077. I kept on imagining what a Batman Beyond in a Cyberpunk 2077-like Gotham, would be like and so I wanted to see it.

This is what I have so far: Bruce Wayne was born on February 19th 1980. His parents, Thomas and Martha were killed on June 26th 1988, 4 months and 1 week after Bruce’s 8th birthday. Alfred is 31.
Bruce graduated on June 25th 1998, leaving Gotham on July 3ed. After training for 6 years abroad, Bruce returned to Gotham on February 19th 2004.
On the 16 anniversary of his parent’s death, Bruce Wayne became Batman. Alfred is 47.
Story- In 2034, Joker takes Alfred and tortures him for 3 weeks. The Bat family does what they can to help Bruce find Alfred, only to find out that he died and was turned into a wax statue.
While the family tries to hold each other back from killing Joker, Bruce isn’t. Their final fight ends where it first began; a former Ace Chemicals factory. Joker’s final gag, after finally breaking Batman, was trying to kill them both in acid.
As they fought, Batman would suddenly suffer a heart attack. Before Batman could plunge to his death, Joker would save him. Seeing the other bat family coming, Joker tries to escape, only to slip on the wet metal and plunge into the acid pool below.
Bruce reflected on what happened; How his anger nearly broken his morals. How his age and body had failed him at a critical moment. He concluded that his life as Batman, was at an end.
