I recently tried to explore Replit after seeing their offer of a 24-hour free full experience. On paper, it sounds like a great opportunity—especially for new users who want to test the platform in a meaningful way.
Unfortunately, my actual experience didn’t match that expectation.
During the signup process, I kept getting stuck in a repeated phone verification loop. I’d enter my number, be told to “wait a minute,” try again, and then receive a message saying I was doing too much for the day. This cycle kept repeating without any clear resolution or progress. As a new user, it felt frustrating and honestly discouraging—especially when the initial impression is supposed to be welcoming and smooth.
What made it more disappointing is that this issue happened right at the entry point. When a platform promotes accessibility and ease of use, the onboarding experience should reflect that.
Because of this, I ended up going back to my own setup using OpenCode along with Minimax 2.7. It may not be as polished, but it works reliably—and that matters more to me.
