clutch problem
finishing up my fxr rebuild (motor/trans/primary) swap and rewire and i am having an issue with my clutch. the transmission is out of a 95 electra glide
problems:
- too much slack in cable unless adjusted to the last few threads
- when tightened lever is insanely hard to pull in
- when pulled in nothing happens at the clutch basket
- when adjusting the clutch at the basket the adjustment screw is all the way in to make contact/feel resistance
i have tried:
- adjusting at clutch basket with cable slacked (multiple attempts redoing every step)
- inspecting throw our bearing / ball and ramp (both seated and look good
- new clutch cable
still nothing but a stiff lever and no clutch actuation along with fomo seeing all these dudes on their harleys enjoying the weather. i have worked on it little by little these past 3 months after my son falls asleep and i need to finish it and get on the road
